Pacesetters Shine at Starmakers Contest

This is dance season for the Pacesetters and they have been working hard for the past two months creating and fine tuning dances for their biggest challenge of the season, the Starmakers Contest. Teams from many area high schools as well as some from other states competed in the all-day event at South Garland high school on Saturday February 23rd. Once again, the Pacesetters proved their traditional “award winning” status by winning the following prizes:       

• Gold Star Award (1st Place)-Team Open
• Gold Star Award(1st Place)-Team Hip Hop
• Gold Star Award (1st Place)-Team Novelty
• Excellence in Precision
• Excellence in Choreography-Team Hip Hop
• Perfect Sweepstakes-All performances received scores of 90 or above from every judge on every routine.
• Circle of Stars-Awarded to teams with the highest scores based on their total number of points from three judges in each category entered.  One of six teams to receive this prestigious award.

Officer Awards

• Bronze Star Award (3rd Place)-Officer Lyrical
• Silver Star Award (2nd Place)-Officer Modern
• Gold Star Award (1st Place)-Officer Jazz
• Excellence in Precision

The Pacesetters are looking forward to their next big event of the season, The Pacesetter Revue. Please join them on Friday and Saturday April 25 and 26 as they will perform their award winning dances.

Congratulations to the newly selected Pacesetter Rookies. As  Pacesetter
Rookies, they will have the opportunity to discover the "Pacesetter Way" 
throughout the spring semester while training during 4th period. They are 
currently improving their technique, preparing for performances, learning 
traditional Pacesetter routines, and so much more! They are already doing a 
fabulous job working as a team, and will soon be ready to join the 2008-2009 
team in May. Congratulations to the following 2008 Rookies: Rebekah, Chloe, 
Jessica, Erica, Laura, Jill, Sarabeth, Kelsey, Luci, Carly, Corrie, Mallory, 
Alyssa, and Shelby.
