Jaclyn
Weaver is in her fourth year at J.J. Pearce High School as the
Pacesetter Director. Ms. Weaver, a graduate of Westlake High School in
Austin, is a former member of the Westlake Hyline, having served as 2nd
Lieutenant her senior year.
Her
first two years of college were attended at Kilgore College in Kilgore.
At Kilgore, Ms. Weaver was a member of the World Famous Kilgore College
Rangerettes. She was a member of the Rangerettes elite dance company,
Swingsters, Freshman Sergeant, and was chosen as Captain her Sophomore
year. Her performance credits as a Rangerette include: Dallas Cowboy’s
game, Neiman Marcus Adolphus Children’s Parade, SWB Cotton Bowl
Classic, Target/Marshall Field’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago,
and the Indianapolis 500. Ms. Weaver earned an Associates of Arts
Degree from Kilgore College, graduating with Honors and as a member of
the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.Ms.
Weaver completed her undergraduate work at Texas A&M University in
College Station. While attending A&M, she was very active in
promoting A&M’s rich tradition and spirit by welcoming new students
to the University through Transfer and Howdy Camps. Ms. Weaver was also
a member of the Chi Omega National Fraternity and worked as a dance
instructor at B/CS. Jr. Drill Team School. During her last year at
A&M, she served as Assistant Director of the Bryan High School
Shy-Anne Dance Team. With a major in Kinesiology, Ms. Weaver graduated
from Texas A&M University in 2006.
Ms.
Weaver has been an instructor for Starmakers Dance and Performance
Camps for the past five years. She has also been on staff for the
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. Ms. Weaver is the PE/Health
Department Chair at Pearce and currently teaches Dance I, Dance II, and
Drill Prep. She is also the sponsor of SADD (Students Against
Destructive Decisions).
Julie Pavelek is in her first year at JJ Pearce High School as the Pacesetter Assistant Director. Mrs. Pavelek is a graduate of Ryan High School in Denton.
Her dance training began at a very young age and continued through high school in Denton with Liz Gallego, Lisa Racina, Anne Black-Scalf and James Clouser. Under these teachers’ direction she intensely studied Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, and Modern. She danced as a principal dancer with Denton Youth City Ballet and DancExpress.
Mrs. Pavelek began her undergraduate work at the University of Texas in Austin where she was a dance major and a member of the Roustabouts Dance Company. In 2002, she transferred to Texas A&M University in College Station. Here she was very active serving in leadership roles for Fish Camp, A&M’s freshmen orientation camp. She was also a member of Maggies, an organization for women leaders on the Texas A&M campus. Ms. Pavelek also taught dance at B/CS Jr. Drill Team.
Also while at A&M, Mrs. Pavelek worked towards earning a Dance Minor under the direction of Christine Bergeron and Carisa Armstrong. This gave her the opportunity to perform at national venues including the American Collegiate Dance Festival and American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. She had the honor of being named by National Dance Association as Dance Minor student of the Year. She later performed as a member of Armstrong Bergeron Dance Company, the professional resident company of Texas A&M University. She graduated in 2006 as a Kinesiology Major and Dance Minor.
Ms. Pavelek serves as staff member for MA Dance. She recently moved from the Houston area where she was the Assistant and Interim Director for the Humble Wildcatdets for two years. She teaches Dance I and II, Drill Prep and Health. She has been married to her best friend, Dustin, for three years.
